People claimed that PEOPLE initially started off as a casual joke on Twitter, it ultimately became a real bid in an auction to buy a copy of the US Constitution. This exciting win would have granted ConstitutionDAO governance rights over documents of the US Constitution. Although the project satisfied its purpose to raise capital and bid at Sotheby’s, $PEOPLE failed to win the auction. However, the project still diligently maintained their promise to return full refunds to contributors.
